Sending simple online surveys in an email to your customers can uncover unexpected insights and improvement points in your business. Often this can be done for little to no cost (SurveyMonkey or Google both offer free options for short surveys) but can yield big value in the long run. The added bonus: the customers who took the survey are more likely to become brand advocates down the road, especially when they see you address their criticisms or roll out their recommended changes-in other words, when they see you do something with the feedback you received.
