SkiePhone is a new service that works with all existing cell phones and landlines without the need of a second phone, expensive plans, or mobile apps.
For people running a startup or small business, having a professional phone solution is almost always a major issue. While managing a limited budget, should they invest in an answering service, a receptionist or just use their cell phones?
Using cell phones is inexpensive and somewhat convenient but it doesn’t always make a great impression, especially for that important first-time caller.
Thanks to Michael Kirlew, a Toronto-based entrepreneur, there’s a new option that is extremely cost-effective and versatile enough to handle all professional telephone functions for any small business. That service is called SkiePhone, a central phone number that manages all incoming calls.
SkiePhone works with all existing cell phones and landlines. All incoming calls are managed and routed through a custom call navigation system and then sent directly to any phone or phones of your choosing. There are no additional hardware or mobile apps required.
“This service came out of a need to work smarter,” said Michael. “If you run a startup or small business, you need to appear as professional as possible while spending the least amount of money. With our service you can give callers a great first impression through the use of personalized greetings, extensions for your staff or departments and several other features.”
SkiePhone, which is available in the US and Canada, enables users to customize their phone service so it they’re only paying for minutes actually used. Plans start at just $5/month and there are no contracts or long-term commitments.
Michael has just launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise a funding goal of $3,000 in order to help launch this service, which can be viewed at skiephone.com/indiegogo.
The Indiegogo page features a video that explains, in detail, how SkiePhone works.
Donations of any amount are welcome. For a $5 pledge, contributors receive a one-month basic subscription to the service so they can check it out and see how easy it is to use. For larger donations, more versatile plans are available depending on your needs.
All of the plans offered to Indiegogo backers are discounted.
“As a startup company ourselves, we know all about the financial constraints of running a small business,” Michael said. “We also know that maintaining a professional image is crucial in attracting clients. That’s why we developed SkiePhone.”
